FINAL UPDATE- At a vote conducted at the City Council meeting held on 01/05/09 the
successor collective bargaining agreement was unanimously approved by the City Council.
UPDATE: Tentative Agreement (TA) on
successive collective bargaining agreement was voted on and approved by the membership during 2 meetings held on 12/01/08.
It was a close vote with strong emotions on both sides. The TA was voted on by 298 members with YES-156, NO-141
and 1 disqualified. The city council referred the contract to the Contract committee and a full City Council vote
will take place on 01/05/09.
NOVEMBER 20, 2008- A tentative successor collective bargaining agreement has
been reached between the City and the negotiating committee of Local 1159. Ratification meeting will be held on 12/01/08
at 10:00hrs and 18:00hrs at the Miamogue Yacht Club for members to vote on this Tentative Agreement. A copy
of this agreement is posted in the Union Case by the patrol window. Everyone should see for themselves what this agreement
really consists off and not what they heard from someone else.
11/18/08- The E-Board met with Andrew Nunn, Adam Wood,
Larry Osbourne, and Tom Sherwood from the City regarding a successor collective bargaining agreement. Offers were
made from the Union which we believe were beneficial to both the Union and the City but were not accepted by the City.
Other than discussions there is no new information to report.
On 09/26/08 the Union negotiating committee and
representatives of the City met regarding a new successor contract. Nothing positive was accomplished during this
meeting and a possible meeting could be set up in the future. However, no date for a future meeting is set up at this

On 09/08/08 the Union Negotiating committee and the City
met regarding a successor contract. Both sides exchanged ideas off and a new negotiating date was set up
for 09/26/08.
Numerous members of 1159 have been asking for information
on what the City was asking for during contract negotiations. Listed below are the City's final proposals from 05/27/08.
All the below listed items plus the Union's proposal's could possibly be decided by an arbitrator.
